I have officially decided:
I like it here in Oregon.
We've lived here for thirteen years, but somehow I just couldn't seem to like it. Until now.
It's rainy today, with an ethereal mist slowly creeping down, covering the hills that I have come to love so much. I walked barefoot outside; enjoying the cold and wet.
The sheep poked their adorable faces out from the barn but decided to stay put, rather than coming to see me.
I look around, and think about all the beauty that fills this valley; how could I have ever not liked this state? Everywhere you look you see emerald green, with subtle earth tones blending perfectly. It's so amazing seeing how the Lord created everything so beautifully, so perfectly. From the smooth pebbles in our creek, to the ancient pines that murmer at night.
It is beautiful.
It is perfect.
This is the Oregon that I love.....

LOL, yeah.
When we left Arizona, I never thought I would like Oregon.
But, as always, God turned my view around.
I'm glad you like it here, because you wouldn't have met me!
LOL, just kidding! ;)
< rolls eyes > I'm sure that was the first thought that came to Caitlyn's mind while writing this.
Mmm, is that Lamb's Sorrel or some such in the picture with the trillium? My dad taught us to eat the leaves while we're on hikes and such.
What is it about beautiful places - Israel lived in the most fruitful, beautiful land, and then they turned their back on the God who gave it to them. Oregonians have done the same. Isn't it neat to think that we are the ones whom God may use to turn people's hearts back to Him?
LOL, I said I was kidding!
But whats so bad about that idea? ;)
you're so mean....
LOL
Hi Emily! :D Yes that is a Sorrel of some sort, be it Lamb's or Wood I am not knowing. It's my most favorite picture that dad has taken, mostly because of the quiet beauty of the Trillium. :)
It is exciting to think about how the Lord may use us; after all he put us here for a specific purpose!
David, how long did it take you to like Oregon? That is a pretty big climate change, from Arizona to Oregon!

hmmmm.....
it took me about one to three years (somewhere in there), to start liking the state itself.
What really helped was having friends.
I didn't have a whole lot of friends in Arizona, believe it or not.
I was bred and born in Oregon. True Oregonian to the core. =) I can't imagine myself anywhere else!
Wow, reading that with Shire music in the back ground was just inspiring. :D lol!
Nevertheless, I think I'd like to live somewhere warmer.
