Oh, humdrum days begone!

You're probably wondering about my odd title up there, aren't ya'? The answer is, I'm sick. Blugh! Friday morning I woke up feeling 100% terrible, and the thermometer agreed with me by saying that I had a very high fever. Apparently big brother decided to share the flu bug with me (thanks Chris). Isn't it amazing how when one is sick they can sleep.... and sleep...and sleep; and still be ready to sleep some more when night comes? Yeah, that's what all of yesterday was like. :( This morning I was hoping really badly that the thermometer would say that all that sleeping payed off and that I was normal again. Nope. It only encouraged me by showing that the fever went up, not down. Grrrr.

But, I refused to get back in my bed. After all, I had been there all of yesterday! besides that, it's a really uncomfortable bed. But what is one to do when the whole family avoids you like you have the plague, you can't eat anything because the fever is so high and you're bored to tears? Ah, ha! I'll blog! So here I am, probably boring you to death; you could always skip this post if you don't want to listen to me complain. ;)

And worst of all, today is mom's baby shower and now I can't go. :(

Okay, I'll stop my moaning and groaning here, maybe I'll try again later when I'm feeling better.

Oh, humdrum days begone!

A day amongst friends

I really am going to explain the fabric secret but, first things first! :D

Yesterday some friends invited us to tag along with them to go to Fort Vancouver (I bet you couldn't guess it was in Vancouver could ya' ?). We had never been there before so we eagerly accepted the offer.

It was a long day but well worth every minute.

Here's a glimpse of our day:

Naturally you have to visit the gift shop first before you do anything else.

Hmmmm. Maybe we should follow that sign?

The garden, located outside the fort. It was pretty even though it was somewhat bare

"Hey look! I found it!"

Inside the fort.

I think this was the Blacksmith place

The Chief Factor's house (he was kind of like the mayor)

I love this shot. I told mom that this is what my house will look like someday: filled with bottles and herbs. :D

A side entrance? Hmmm. could come in handy if we need to escape. LOL

Quick bar the door! The enemy is attacking! (okay, this shot was posed)

Uummm...Here we are--uh--well--running. Next shot please.

Our destination, the Bastion. I mean, how could you not run towards something like that.

Ha! we made it up all those scary stairs. The bastion is where they kept there cannons in case of enemy attacks.

Shall we say more art? I don't remember what room this was in. :D

Aahh, yes. The prison. We had a lot of fun in here, as you can probably see.

A weak and withered hand......spooky

Walking the garden one more time as we begin the journey back.

The three lads, talking about......?

I think this is probably what we all looked like at the end of the day.

All for now I guess. :)

quiet days

The last couple of days have been exhaustingly busy. We had a valentines' day banquet at our church and it took a lot of effort, time and planning to make everything go smoothly. But all went well and everybody enjoyed themselves.

So now that that is over, we girls have begun our next projects.....

The sound of scissors snip-snipping is heard....

We whisper...

Colorful fabrics cascade across our table....

As we work....

To be continued..... ;)

swingin' in the treetops

Hurray! Lil' Carver finally got a swing for himself. Mom has been looking around for one for ages and was so happy to finally find this one. When Carver first saw it, he looked at mom, then looked at the swing, then looked back at mom, then back at the swing. He went up to it, gently put one of his little hands on it and gave a soft "Oooooohh". :D

I was starting to wonder if he would ever want down from his swing after dad hung it up. He looked so content just sitting there and swinging......

Free at last!

Today the weather was so nice that we decided to let Peaches outside. For almost a month now she has been cooped up in the barn because its been too wet out for her. But don't start feeling bad for the poor thing, her stall is a 24' by 18 ish' pen, so she's had room to roam.

Peaches was so excited to be free that she galloped lap after lap in her pasture; after she rolled first of course. :D

And yes, our pasture is now horribly torn up and muddy, but it was worth it watching her gallop with her tail flagged and her seeing her beautiful arabian stance when she finally stood still.
