You know you're an herb fanatic when....

. The ceiling in various rooms and closets have holes all over them from hanging so many herbs to dry.

. Your family officially dubs your bedroom closet the "flower graveyard".

. It no longer surprises your family when you come careening into the house with a pathetic looking leafy twig and you are jumping up and down in excitement over your find.

. Nor are they surprised when they open their own closets and find strange looking plants hanging upsidedown from the ceiling.

. It's been said that you sometimes say Latin herb names in your sleep. (*note* I have yet to do this one ;D)

. You and your family are driving on the highway and you suddenly shout "Did you see that!?" Your family turns around, looking for something spectacular. Then you continue to say that you just saw a lovely Canadian Thistle plant in the ditch.

. You drive by a very large and important building often but never actually notice the building. You're too busy admiring the beautiful Lady's Mantle plant in the front and wondering where they got it.

. Your sewing room is beginning to resemble a plant nursery more than a sewing room.

. After church is over you find yourself talking with a friend about magnesium deficiencies in the soil and the various species of pigweed around your property.

. You name your favorite pansy plant. (I admit to this one! Her name is Stella.)

. You are constantly amazed at how perfectly the Lord created everything.

I admit that I can relate to almost every single one of these. Especially the last one....

Ha ha! That sounds like something I was going to do. But it would be more along the lines of "You know when you're a latin fanatic when..." Il ove latin, and methinks I'm starting to be a bit of a history fanatic myself. :D

Hi Andrea!

My b-day is the 13th. Scary thought, me being 17. ;D

The sheepies are doing very well. All fat and happy and ready for fair time. :) I admit that I am glad that you will be leaving Freckles behind, She's so sweet and friendly (she was jumping up at the gate last night when I went into the barn!). I will give her back to you when it's time though!
And we wouldn't mind at all having some more little ladies about the place, the more the merrier! ;D

17 is a good number. Another year to serve Christ!

You do, indeed, top me in the area of herbs :)

Just recently I've been brewing wormwood, black walnut hull, ground clove and senna. My family gets a kick out of seeing me try to get it down!

Not to mention filling the kitchen with the powerful scent of pennyroyal... it seems to help keep away the flies, Mattie and Jani say 'thanks'!

Wise-woman, learn on! You are a blessing to others.

Senna? Wow, you are waaay braver than me. ;)I have Senna in my "stash" but so far I've only used it for animals.

My family gets some chuckles watching me try to down my cold medicine. It's a tincture of Fennel, Crampbark, Licorice root, Elecampane root, Red clover, Wild Cherry, Horehound, Gumweed, Lobelia, White pine and Poplar. Yup you guessed it, it nasty! ;D

I enjoy my GoldenSeal/ Echinacea tincture now though. I put it in my orange juice, which makes it becomes pleasantly bitter.

To Mattie and Jani: Your Welcome! ;D
